FAQ
Do menopause supplements really work?
It depends. There’s no simple, one-size-fits-all answer because every woman’s menopause experience is unique.
But the good news is that studies have shown many ingredients used in menopause supplements to be effective. At the same time, some ingredients may not suit everyone, and a few have been linked to risks for certain women. We’re all wonderfully individual, so what works beautifully for one woman might not be right for another.
That’s why we’ve done our very best to ensure our formulations are effective for as many women as possible. And we’ve based them on research, quality, and care.
Here’s the key: look for high-quality supplements with no fillers, artificial colourants, or unnecessary additives. Always check the label and expiry date, and choose formulations tested by scientists. So you can feel confident they’ll do what they promise.
Do menopause supplements help with weight loss?
Again, it depends – this time on what you’re hoping to achieve.
Menopause supplements are generally designed to support hormonal balance and ease some of the common symptoms of perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause. These can include hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings, low libido or itchiness, fatigue, and disrupted sleep.
By contrast, weight loss supplements are formulated to aid fat metabolism, appetite control, or calorie reduction. However, hormonal imbalance can sometimes contribute to weight gain during menopause. This means a menopause supplement may help in a small way.
That said, weight management at midlife is often influenced by a combination of factors: stress, sleep, and nutrition. So, these may need separate focus to achieve the results you’re looking for.
Can menopause supplements prevent fatigue?
They may help – and here’s why.
During perimenopause and menopause, changes in estrogen and progesterone can affect the way your body regulates cellular energy. As a result, many women experience extreme tiredness or fatigue – one of the hallmark symptoms of this transition.
In fact, research has shown a connection between menopause and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). While most women don’t experience fatigue that severe, the tiredness can still be very real. Add night sweats and disrupted sleep into the mix, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for exhaustion.
Menopause supplements can help prevent or manage fatigue by supporting hormonal shifts and helping your body adapt to these natural changes.
Other healthy habits can make a real difference, too. Regular exercise, the Mediterranean-style diet, and hydration all support energy levels and stress balance. It also helps to avoid caffeine and alcohol later in the day, and to finish eating three to four hours before bed so your digestive system can rest when you do
What ingredients does MenoMe® use in its menopause supplements?
At MenoMe®, we carefully select ingredients that are evidence-backed to support women from perimenopause to post-menopause.
Both Merry Peri® and Perky Post® feature a powerful botanical trio of affron® saffron, fenugreek, and sage. Together, they support sleep, mood, joint comfort, libido, temperature balance (hot flushes), and overall wellbeing.
In addition, Perky Post® includes vitamin D3, vitamin K2, and resveratrol for added support in post-menopause. Indeed, they help maintain bone strength, heart health, and cognitive function — when these areas often need extra care.
We also have Happy Go Tummy®, designed to support the digestive changes that can come as part and parcel of menopause. It’s a synbiotic — a combination of prebiotic and probiotic — featuring award-winning Livaux®, a probiotic derived from New Zealand kiwifruit, and L. rhamnosus, a probiotic sourced from New Zealand cheese. Together, they help maintain gut balance, regularity, and overall digestive wellbeing, which are key foundations for hormone and immune health.
As well as that, our award-winning LotsaLocks® supports hair density and strength. The hormonal shifts of menopause can lead to thinning or hair loss, and LotsaLocks® helps counter these changes with keraGEN-IV®, a natural keratin extracted from the wool of New Zealand sheep, and biotin (vitamin B7), both known for nourishing hair from within.
Together, these botanicals create a comprehensive foundation for women’s health – helping to support your body through menopause and beyond, and providing protection against the degenerative changes that can become more common in later years.
Should you choose Merry Peri® or Perky Post®?
We understand that the needs of women in perimenopause are different from those in post-menopause.
That’s why MenoMe® has created two unique formulations – each designed to support women at their specific stage of menopause.
If you’re navigating perimenopause, we recommend Merry Peri®.
If you’re in post-menopause, Perky Post® has been formulated especially for you.
Both Merry Peri® and Perky Post® contain recommended dosages – the same levels used by scientists in research for hormone-supporting properties.
The key difference between the two is in their formulation:
Merry Peri® contains affron® saffron, fenugreek, and sage – botanicals long used in traditional medicines to support hormone balance, mood, and overall wellbeing.
Perky Post®, on the other hand, contains the same trio plus vitamin D3, vitamin K2, and resveratrol — ingredients to give additional support for bone strength, heart health, and cognition in post-menopause.
You may also choose to stay on Merry Peri® after menopause, or begin Perky Post® earlier, depending on your personal needs, budget, and other supplements you’re taking.
Whatever you decide, MenoMe® has you covered — with targeted support to help you feel balanced, energised, and confident through every stage of menopause.
