The Making Of 40+ & 55+

In production at PharmaNZ

Would you like to watch the making of 40+ & 55+?

Do you ever wonder what it’s like to see a supplement being made?

Mostly we buy a bottle and take them as directed with no thought to the process of getting from A to B.

Unless you’re in the industry of course.

So we thought you might appreciate a tour of PharmaNZ where 40+ and 55+ products are made.

Geography

If you’re not familiar with New Zealand, or indeed the North Island of this small country, Hamilton is an area in the heart of the Waikato which sits in the centre of the North Island. It’s a growing town with a population of 165,000 (2017) situated about 90 minutes drive from the country’s biggest city of Auckland. (FYI: The pink area is where our distribution centre is.)

40+ & 55+ Ingredients

Angelica Gigas flower
Angelica gigas nakai flower

The secret sauce we use for hormone balancing is a herbal blend called EstroG-100™.

It’s made up of three herbal root extracts: Cynanchum wilfordii (Milkweed), Phlomis umbrosa (Jerusalem sage) and Angelica gigas nakai (Angelica). This blend is sent over from South Korea in powder form.

Peter discovered EstroG-100™ while at an industry expo in South Korea where he listened to the creator Dr Jae Kim speaking about it. He was so impressed he felt he had to bring it down under.

EstroG-100™ is in both 40+ and 55+.

The additional ingredients in 55+ are Enzogenol®, marine magnesium and vitamin D3.

Enzogenol® comes from New Zealand pine and is made in Paeroa. For those not familiar with Paeroa, it’s a tiny town in New Zealand’s North Island (it’s situated in the Hauraki region just up and to the right of Hamilton on the map above). Paeroa has a population of approximately 6,000 people.

Post-menopause

This is the time when menstruation is well and truly over, the ovaries have stopped producing high levels of sex hormones and for many ladies, perimenopause symptoms subside.

Estrogen has protective qualities and the diminished levels mean organs such as your brain, heart and bones become more vulnerable. It’s also a key lubricant so your lips may become drier, your joints less supple and your vagina might be drier. In addition, your thyroid, digestion, insulin, cortisol and weight may alter.

At this juncture, a woman might experience an increase in the signs of reduced estrogen but she should have a decrease of perimenopause symptoms. That said, some women will experience symptoms like hot flushes for years or even the rest of their lives.

Perimenopause

Peri = ‘near’

Most females begin to experience the symptoms of perimenopause in their mid-forties. Your progesterone levels decline from your mid-30s but it’s generally from around 40 that the rest of your sex hormones begin to follow suit.

Perimenopause is a different experience for every woman and some women may barely notice it. The first indicators are usually changes to the monthly cycle. This means that for some ladies, this can be accompanied by things like sore breasts, mood swings, weight gain around the belly, and fatigue as time goes on.

For those with symptoms it can be a challenging time physically, mentally and emotionally.

Importantly, perimenopause lasts – on average – four to 10 years. The transition is usually a gradual process and many women enter perimenopause without realising.
